About

Born in the US, and currently live in WNC.  I have been an artist from day one, but unfortunately life circumstances didn't always present the opportunities to claim the vocation.

Recently I have started working with collage/decollage. I fell in love with  gelli plate printing which lead me to collage. Collage lead me to decollage and that's when I was hooked. It fit with my love of the distressed look.  Before this I was working with scrap wood. I would challenge myself to let the wood claim the design by fitting it into the frame/base and not cutting anything. It's like working a puzzle. Both mediums offer different ways to play with layers, texture and color.

I have worked with several mediums in the past: photography, screen printing, sculpture, paper, glass, and metal and the reoccurring theme is the use of discarded objects. I love looking at rusted, distorted and weathered objects. Seeking the inherent beauty they possess and finding the means to display those uniqueness's inspires me. If I'm not able to produce art or be creative, then a piece of me is missing. I love creating art, viewing art, being surrounded by it and most of all sharing it. -Teri
